The great thing about living in Roll, Arizona, is the quiet, rural lifestyle. If you’re looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life, Roll is the place to be! But for those who are looking for a little adventure or a great family day trip, there are many things to do in Yuma County. Pack a lunch, enjoy the sun, and explore our fabulous area!

Yuma Territorial Prison State Historic Park 

For over 33 years in the late 1800’s, this stone prison incarcerated over 3,000 inmates—29 of whom were women. Visitors to this historic site can walk inside the prison walls and learn about the inhabitants of the time through video presentations and exhibits. Yuma Crossing State Historic Park 

In the early 1900’s, the U.S. Army used this area as a distribution center for their posts in Arizona, Nevada, Utah, New Mexico, and Texas. Spend a warm, sunny day exploring the site which included five of the original Quartermaster buildings. You’ll find out more about this historically rich area on their website. Make sure to pack a lunch and enjoy the picnic area. Admission to this park is free.

Lutes Casino 

While there are many fine restaurants and places to eat in Yuma, going to Lute’s Casino is a stop you won’t want to miss. Built in 1901, Lutes Casino is famous for the “Especial” burger/dog—a culinary delight you have to try at least once in your lifetime.
